For this post, I wanted to research what potential assets I could use for a future project, so that when the time comes, it will be easier for me to organize and find any assets I have already seen.
potential assets for a forest/ outdoor scene:
I have researched different assets which are easily accessible and free on the Unreal Marketplace and through Megascans which is on Quixel Bridge:
Flowers and Foliage:
Flowers and Plants Nature Pack
temperate Vegetation: Foliage Collection
Temperate Vegetation: conifer Bushes & Saplings I
temperate Vegetation: Ground Foliage
mediterranean Vegetation: giant Reed
Temperate Vegetation: Fern Collection
temperate Vegetation: Spruce Forest
Temperate Vegetation: Wild Berries
temperate Vegetation: Meadow Flowers
Mediterranean Vegetation: Plant Pack II
interactive Open World Foliage
Landscape Materials:
Forest Landscape Materials Vol.I
Forest Landscape Materials Vol. II
Grass Landscape Material Vol. I
Extras/ Bundles:
Scanned Poplar and Aspen Forest with Seasons
Quixel Megascans Natural Environment Collection
The Megascans library is packed with textures, 3D meshes, etc which are free to use with an Epic games account.
From this large range of assets, I have more than enough assets needed to create a realistic outdoor environment/ scene in Unreal 4. I will continue to develop my knowledge and explore the potential I have with Unreal and Quixel.
